A true taste of Italy arrived on the King’s Road this December with the launch of Ritorno London; an elegant, premium lounge bar. Ritorno will bring an authentic Italian aperitivo experience from the sophisticated streets of Milan, to the fashionable streets of Chelsea.
The 80-cover lounge bar will provide a destination for the well-heeled to enjoy the art of aperitivo with cocktails and fine wines, complemented by mouthwatering morsels of the very best Italian produce.
Head Barman, Paolo Viola formerly of Rivoli Bar at The Ritz, and Chef Filippo Salzano (C.London), have collaborated to create a unique cocktail and food pairing experience using artisanal ingredients inspired by and sourced from across the Italian peninsula and surrounding islands.
Ritorno’s cocktails are divided into four distinct areas: Regional Specialities, Bollicine (meaning bubbly), Ritorno Classics and Ritorno Specials. Ritorno’s Regional Specialities are each inspired by the descriptive words of their native poets and lyricists. Paolo and his team have reinterpreted this “essence of the land” using high quality, craft and traditionally made ingredients to develop a unique cocktail experience.
And no less attention has been paid to the food offering over 40 small plates on the menu created using the highest quality and freshest produce. Classic Aperitivo dishes include Tagliolini di Ragù e Polpettine di Fassona, Guancia di Manzo con Polenta Morbida and Vitello Tonnato.
This epicurean venture will be the first from family-run, Milan-based company, BarettoLounge. Said the owner Giacomo Longo “We’re proud to call London our second home, but when we’re here, we do miss the Milan-style of socialising. We hope at Ritorno to be able to offer a destination for every night of the week, whether it be for an after-work or pre-dinner drink or light bite within a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. Guests will be treated as friends with every attention paid to them”.
