“Over the summer I was lucky enough to be able to spend a week with Mason Williams, and it was a great experience. Having completed my second year of University, studying History and Italian (a degree that doesn’t give me a straight career path to follow), I wanted to do some work experience to gain an insight into not just the world of PR but also, more generally, an insight into the working world.

During my first day at Mason Williams I immediately felt very welcomed, and very well informed about what the following week was going to bring. Everyone who works there made sure that they introduced themselves to me, and made sure that I knew what I was doing the whole time. They were also extremely helpful and understanding when I had any questions, which is very reassuring when you’re in a new environment and working on tasks that are unfamiliar to you.

Rather than just being in the office for all of the 5 days, I was fortunate enough to be working with the team for two days on their ‘Christmas in July’ event. This was an invaluable experience for me and I feel very lucky to be included in this event, as it opened up my experience and allowed me to see the broad roles of a PR company. Despite these days being rather hectic and long, they were the best two-days I have had on a placement. Being able to experience the social and communicative side of PR so thoroughly, allowed me to fully understand how fun and completely rewarding the job can be if you put in the hard work.”
