Mason Williams has worked to support Mersey Ferries, promoting their range of experiences, including River Explorer Cruises, Evening Cruises and Liverpool Bay Cruises, for over eight years.
AN OVERVIEW
As PR partner to Mersey Ferries, we were briefed to promote the vibrant, family-friendly tourist offering as part of a broader strategic mission from Liverpool City Region. In addition to generating consumer media coverage, we were also tasked to give PR support with an approach for trade titles. More recently, Mason Willams has proposed and delivered an influencer marketing strategy to build on the awareness and credibility of Mersey Ferries.
THE APPROACH
For key campaigns, seasonal opportunities and promotions, our team developed suggested creatives, engaging storylines and press releases. Through press office and pitching for feature opportunities, Mason Williams secured national and regional coverage, meaning Mersey Ferries was continually at the forefront of visitors' minds to the city. With new partnerships and announcements from Mersey Ferries, we pitched stories, maximising on coverage opportunities throughout. In addition to media outreach, we were focused on driving influencer programmes, which meant conducting extensive research and negotiation with content creators, ensuring content deliverables and a positive perception of the brand is published.
THE RESULTS
We’re proud to have placed Mersey Ferries in titles such as Radio Times, The Guardian, BBC and Liverpool Echo plus many other national and regional publications. In 2023, we generated over 145 million opportunities for Mersey Ferries to be seen across media, influencer and social coverage, with a return on investment of 20:1.
